How Tallow (Beef Fat) Help You Lose Weight?

Tallow (beef fat) can potentially help you lose weight. Before Crisco came around tallow was the most popular fat to cook with. People use it in recipes, soups and stews. Then Crisco came in 1911. For 97 years, Crisco promoted margarine that was healthier than the saturated fat even though it was a trans fat made from a vegetable seeds oil. They put it under high heats with aluminum to make it hydrogenated thicker and promoted it as a healthy thing for a very long time. In 1970s, saturated fats were blamed to cause heart disease. But now the research has shown that the vegetable seeds oil creates a huge amount of oxidation whereas saturated fats are very stable. So it is really the trans fat that have been creating the heart disease. For so many years we have been fed false data. Tallow actually creates very little oxidation.




How can tallow help you lose weight?


1. Tallow contains lots of conjugated linoleic acid (we call it CLA), which increases fat burning.


2. Tallow is extremely satisfying because it is loaded with vitamin A, D, E, omega-3 fatty acid, such as DHA. They allow you to fast a longer time for losing weight. If you don’t have a good quality fat then you are not able to lose as much weight as you should.


3. Tallow decreases cravings and hunger for carbohydrates. You will end up eating less carbohydrates. Have you ever felt missing something or you are not satisfied after a meal? Even though you are stuffed but you still need something to eat. What you are needing is a good quality fat with fat soluble vitamin A, D, E.


4. Fat compared to carbohydrate and protein is the only thing that doesn’t trigger insulin. It is true that anytime you eat you are going to trigger insulin a little bit but fat is neutral and it won’t trigger insulin like the others. That means less insulin more weight loss.


5. You will have less gut inflammation when you consume tallow. This leads to less insulin resistance because the more inflammation you have the more insulin resistance, the higher blood insulin level.

 

When you use tallow, I recommend you do 100% grass-fed beef tallow. In summary, don’t be afraid of the 97 years of false and lies.
